  4. Create short video tutorials explaining ParaView in addition to the ParaView Guide

ParaView is a rather complicated 3d scientific visualization software. It's difficult for beginners to understand the basics from a book.
I suggest adding some basic short video tutorials to help people understand the key components of the software and include more examples (maybe the most common questions from the support forum).

  5. Save Data - Filename modification

Hi all, it would be very nice if the file names (if we save time dependent data using 'Save Data') are set as in the 'Save Animation Mask'. I guess the implementation is not difficult as everything is already built in. My suggestion is that the files should have the same numbering (leading zero) as the animation files. E.g.

We save the data from time 1 to 100. The data file name is "foobar.txt" which will result in

    foobar.1.txt
    foobar.2.txt
    .
    .
    .

However, it would be nicer (e.g. for sorting etc) to have the file names as:

    foobar.0001.txt
    foobar.0002.txt …

  6. Add support to read .off files

.off files are great to read and write.

  10. Add super title for render view

For those using render view for small multiples (e.g., subplots of different months of seasons of climate data), it would be nice to be able to add one super title overlying all the individual views upon export/screenshotting.

This would be similar to `pyplot.suptitle` in python.

  11. Allow embedding into Jupyter notebooks

Any chance we will be seeing the ability to add canned 3D scenes to a Jupyter notebook (much like the interactive plotly charts) - this would really make reports reading interesting. I think you're almost there with Paraview web!

  12. Draw ellipsoids/cylinders with specified orientation vector

The default cylinder aligns along y-axis. It would be much helpful, if the users can specify the orientation vector of the cylinder directly inside the paraview.

  13. Dark Theme Option in Settings

Add the ability to choose a dark color theme at runtime. I image a checkbox in the settings/preferences.

This would be very similar to the trends following MacOS Mojave's "Dark Mode" and would provide much-needed eye strain relief for those of us power users that are up all night making ridiculously awesome visualizations in ParaView.

  16. Loading camara positions (.pvcc) by animation view, camara

The tool to interpolate camera positions via the Animation view is very nice. But typing cam positions is very boring. In the dialogue you can use the current cam position. But I miss the possibility to load saved camera positions via the pvcc file.

  18. Format specification in Annotate Attribute data

The current "Annotate Attribute data" filter in Paraview does not have format specification options. As an example, when annotating say (0,0,0) element of a cell data array "U" with a value of "0.123456789" shows " U = 0.123456789" on the render view. It may be helpful to have a feature where one can specify the format (say "U = %5.2f") to display only "U = 0.12" on the screen instead of the 9 significant digits from the original data. Thanks!

  19. Transform position relative to screen

Add a feature to Transform filter, or a new filter, where you can transform something relative to screen. With that it would be possible to position a source with one click parallel to screen if the coordinate system doesn't align with screen.

  20. Three Arrows with Glyph Plot

    Hello,

When I create a vector plot, the plot returns with three arrows representing each point instead of one arrow. How can I change from three arrows to one arrow?
