    ParaView .app bundles across different versions are indeed independent of one another and can be used at the same time. Just rename the app bundle or place them under different directories. Isn't that sufficient?

    Try using the "Auto Convert Properties" option available in the Settings dialog (on the General tab). ParaView will auto extract components or compute vector magnitudes when this option is enabled.

    What do you mean by the "order of selection should remain the same". I am not sure I understand what you mean by order.
