Transparency/opacity in background color
It would be an enhancement to ParaView's output capabilities to allow for transparent backgrounds when saving data as, e.g., PNG screenshots.
Right now, there's always a rectangular bounding box in the way independent of the geometrical structure.
This is supported since ParaView 4.2. The setting can be accessed from the Settings dialog, General Tab. Search for “Transparent Background” under the advanced settings.

Thanks for bringing this up. I fully support this enhancement request. Just for the interested. On Linux you can relatively easily make in image transparent either by the commandline (use convert from http://www.imagemagick.org) or interactively (e.g. Gimp). Native support from Paraview would make life simpler ofcourse.
