obj (with texture) can be used...
I would like to know if it's possible to used obj format with the textured file, in order to create "fly in" or "fly through" animation of the model. Actually obj file could be used but the textured file is not used

Add new color palettes
ParaView comes with two built in color Palettes: Screen and Print. It would be nice if a user was able to define his/her own color palette.

Vivid (Flat) Color Contours like Fluent or other Postprocessors
All contours on ParaView are always shaded, but sometimes the shaded contours are not suitable for understanding the values indicated by colors. I hope the vivid, flat, non-photorealistic shading model like Fluent or other post processors are implemented.

Enable vector export of axis labels specified in MathText form in line chart views
Currently (as of version 4.1), when exporting line chart views in vector form, the mathtext axis labels get output in plain form such as $\gamma$ instead of the Greek gamma symbol. Mathtext apperaing elsewhere, such as legends, gets output correctly. Only the axes labels do not get output correctly. I have tested it with both "renedr text as paths" checked and unchecked and the error was not affected by it.

Enhancements for Resample With Dataset filter
It often happens on CFD analysis that you want to resample large data file (like a complicated.foam case) on .stl or other kind of geometry files. But when you do this with Resample filter, you loose all the previous present celldata or pointdata (for example the STLSolidLabeling on an stl file useful do subdivide them). The Resample With Dataset filter could be improved by adding a (flag) option like "Append Already Existing Source Data", thus not missing already present dataset on Source vtkDataSet

SEG-Y seismic data reader (2D and 3D)
It would be useful to have a reader for SEG-Y seismic data, with the option to translate between big-endian and little-endian forms (UNIX to PC). This may be a complicated task since most data will be in two-way time (unless depth converted). However , this should not be a problem given that the freeware GMT software can read the data and convert to a useable format. Something to consider.

Faster Auto Apply
As of now I'm using auto apply with a transformation like widget however I'm unable to see smooth real time changes. I know the paraview pipeline is complicated but I would like to see a way to allow for realtime editing of the dataset be it a different sort of plugin or a faster way to do auto apply.

why dont we customise this for spatial data
Spatial data is large dynamic and amenable for viewing sadly all we have are some foss gis clients which while have a GIS flavour don't do full justice to visualisation part

Rulers with snapping vertices
Today's Ruler Source doesn't have snap-to-vertices function. It's very important for FEM or other CAE methods needing structural analysis.

can you tell me please, how to draw velocity profile in x, y and z direction? your software is awesome but keep developing.

In version 4.1, when I use the threshold filter I get different results than when I use the same filter in version 4.0.1
In version 4.1, when I use the threshold filter I get different results than when I use the same filter in version 4.0.1. This happens when I open .vti and .vtp files

Should fix "stable releases"
Over years I over and over run into the problem that there are not even two consecutive "stable" releases of ParaView that actually work.
I suggest one ports back bug fixes and uses the patch level of stable releases more.
To give an example, e.g. the latest 4.1 release does not support parallel volume rendering for some data sets (since 1.5 month). But noone cares until 4.2 will be released - which will also contain a huge bunch of new features again which probably will break other stuff again.

Center scalar bar title
With version 3.12 it was possible to center scalar bar title by scaling horizontally the scalar bar. With version 4.1 it is not possible anymore and it would be great to have this feature back ...

Bring back custom filter exposed names
I have noticed that in more recent versions of ParaView (versions > 3.8.1) the exposed names in custom filters do not display in the properties tab of the object inspector. This makes it very difficult to deal with complex custom filters (particulatly those which have multiple calculator expression fields exposed).
I am teaching a university unit in scientific data vis, and I woould like them to create some complex custom filters and document them, for now I will simple get them to use ParaView 3.8.1, but it would be nice to teach the latest version next semester.

Being Able To Change The Default Camera Angle - Connecting To a Server With a Different Camera Angle as default
Example - 1 Server - 2 Clients
Connecting the first client to server - Default Camera Angle
Connecting the second client to the server - Seeing the data from the top
The idea is being able to set the parameters of cave.pvx
LowerLeft=" -1 -1 -2"
LowerRight=" 1 -1 -2"
UpperRight=" 1 1 -2"in each client that connects to a server

In the Pipeline Browser, use the the icons of the respective filters (if existent)
currently, in the pipeline browser, all the icons are just green boxes. For the filters that are used frequently (contours / slices / clips etc.), there are nice icons available. why not use them in the Pipeline browser as well?

take a look at my bug report
Thanks for ParaView! I enjoy the program a lot.
Yet, after checking the bug reports already present, I carefully crafted a bug report, which is downloadable from my GitHub:
https://github.com/richelbilderbeek/ProjectRichelBilderbeek/blob/develop/Misc/ParaviewError/ParaViewError.pdfAFAIKS the sequence of creation, saving and loading of the primitive shapes box,cylinder and cone work incorrectly. Sphere does work as expected.
The error occurs in Windows 7.
I hope you appreciate my help.

Add multi-block support to the "Temporal particles to pathlines" filter
When using a data-set with multiple spatial blocks, where the temporal information is present in the top-level multi-block wrapper node,
the pathlines filter does not find any timestepping information.(cf. related discussion on the mailing list: http://www.paraview.org/pipermail/paraview/2010-October/019042.html)
Since we produce our data massively in parallel, we can not write a single spatial block efficiently and must rely on xdmf's multi-block capability. Without an efficient trajectory-trace filter, however, particle plotting using paraview is obviously mostly pointless.
