  1. The tool to interpolate camera positions via the Animation view is very nice. But typing cam positions is very boring. In the dialogue you can use the current cam position. But I miss the possibility to load saved camera positions via the pvcc file.

  2. Add the ability to choose a dark color theme at runtime. I image a checkbox in the settings/preferences.

This would be very similar to the trends following MacOS Mojave's "Dark Mode" and would provide much-needed eye strain relief for those of us power users that are up all night making ridiculously awesome visualizations in ParaView.

  4. When importing a temporal file series (e.g. foo_N.vtk), paraview currently only recognizes N as an integer sequence (for instance where N=001,002,003,..). If the time series is named after a time represented by a float (e.g. N=0.5,1.0,1.5,... where you can think of that numbers as being seconds) the file series is not recognized.
Since naming a file after it's simulation time seems to be a fairly common practice, it would be helpful to expand the naming patterns and allow for N to be a float and not only an integer.

  5. VTK has the function of overlaying chart in 3D render view but ParaView cannot.
This function will be useful to present the result in a one image as in StarCCM+

  8. An "Equirectangular View" would be a fantastic addition to the software.

Right now being we are not even able to link camera movements relatively in order to create an "interactive cubemap". All linked cameras have to have the same position. That can be improved.

That would be a great start to an "Equirectangular View"

  9. would be great to have a keyboard shortcut for load state (it's as useful as a shortcut for open).

  10. Hello,

When I create a vector plot, the plot returns with three arrows representing each point instead of one arrow. How can I change from three arrows to one arrow?

  11. The current "Annotate Attribute data" filter in Paraview does not have format specification options. As an example, when annotating say (0,0,0) element of a cell data array "U" with a value of "0.123456789" shows " U = 0.123456789" on the render view. It may be helpful to have a feature where one can specify the format (say "U = %5.2f") to display only "U = 0.12" on the screen instead of the 9 significant digits from the original data. Thanks!

  13. Add a feature to Transform filter, or a new filter, where you can transform something relative to screen. With that it would be possible to position a source with one click parallel to screen if the coordinate system doesn't align with screen.

  14. The (now rather ancient) visualization software OpenDX has the ability to show glyphs in text form. This glyphs represent the point values as a text string. The text glyph could be 2D (always oriented in the view plane) or 3D. I am aware that text values at a given position can be displayed using the labels of the selection display inspector. But this options needs a lot of user interaction and it seems not to be possible to compare the values of two different objects.

Extending Glyphs to have a text representation would be very much apreciated.

  18. custom chart data marker mouse-over labels
I would like to be able to define the interactive label which appears when you mouse over markers in line chart view. Specifically I would like to be able to select a dataset/vector which appears as the marker label on mouse over. For example, if plotting up a csv file with three columns of data (label, x, y), it would be useful to be able to plot the x, y data and have the label data appear on mouse-over.

  20. The EnSight case file name convention also includes *.encas files which have the same file format as the already available *.case, *.CASE, and *.Case files. ANSYS Fluent exports ensight files by default as *.encas files and these files are not recognized by Paraview. It would be trivial to also include the *.encas file name extension in the list of EnSight files and would make life a bit easier.
